I just reread my all-time favourite book for the 8th time recently, taking a record-breaking day and a half to finish it. Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon, and the entryway for my passion of all things Scottish. This isn’t a review – this is a “go read it now if you know what’s good for you.” Also, it’s something to post until I actually have something. Thinking of continuing an earlier short story. We’ll see.

“Let’s see,” I said counting on my fingers. “According to you, Frasers are stubborn, Campbells are sneaky, MacKenzies are charming but sly, and Grahams are stupid. What’s the Murrays’ distinguishing characteristics?”

“Ye can count on them in a fight,” said Jamie and Ian together, then laughed.

“Ye can too,” said Jamie recovering. “You just hope they’re on your side.” And both men went off into fits again.

  1. I love, love, LOVE Outlander! That being said, I still haven’t read last book in the Outlander series. I’m not fickle, I swear. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just got lost because I didn’t remember who some of those characters were (that appear in the latest). I’ll get to it though. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. The absolute best books in the world, honestly. Gasp! You must read! To be fair, though, it’s been so long since I’ve read it that I completely forgot what happened. I figure by the time I’m finished going through the series again, being an eighth of the way through Dragonfly In Amber, I’ll remember everything when the next book is released. But you really ought to read it. From what I do recall, it’s brilliant. (obviously)

      1. I know, I know. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just got frustrated because I kept asking “who is this character again?” Imagine going through 1000 pages that way. I will get there eventually. I also have The Scottish Prisoner that is waiting to be read.

      2. This is fair. There’s a lot going on. The Scottish Prisoner is also on my waiting list. I love Lord John, so I’m so pleased he’s got his own books/is a major character in the main series.
