So, my pal (https://jpmarshman.wordpress.com/) has been writing blogs about…writing…because that’s what she does. She figured I should give it a go, but with music.

When a write a song or a poem, it usually stems from a single line or idea that I am intrigued or inspired by. I typically start with lyrics and work out a melody later, which I’ve learned isn’t very effective! Oh well. Sometimes I just take two half-songs that have similar themes and work them together. All kinds of stuff you can do!

I always like to know the origin story of a song – like the very first line. First line or verse I write usually ends up being the first verse/line of the song because I am too lazy to try different arrangements.

Anyway. I know some people work solely on the computer, but I like to write the old fashioned…
